What information we collect
GentleSight collects no personal information. We do not ask for a name, email address, phone number, location, photos, contacts, or any other personal details. There are no user accounts and no sign-up. We do not create advertising identifiers or device fingerprints, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
Offline by design
GentleSight runs entirely on your device and does not require an internet connection to play. The app does not transmit your child’s activity, progress, or any other information to us or to any third party. Because nothing is sent off the device, there is no personal data for us to see, store, or share.
No advertising
GentleSight contains no advertisements of any kind. There are no banner ads, no video ads, no “reward” ads, and no third-party ad networks or advertising SDKs. Your child will never be shown ads or asked to make a purchase from within the games.
No analytics or tracking
GentleSight uses no analytics and no tracking. We do not embed third-party analytics tools, crash-reporting SDKs that collect personal data, social media trackers, or marketing pixels. We do not build profiles of users and we do not sell or share any information, because we do not collect any.
Purchases
GentleSight is free to download and includes 40 starter sight words and all six games at no cost. An optional one-time “Word Pack” adds more curated words. Purchases are processed entirely by the app store (Google Play, and the App Store on iOS) under its own terms and privacy policy. We never receive or store your payment details. The store may share with us anonymous, aggregate information about whether a purchase succeeded so the app can unlock the content you bought; this does not identify you.
Data stored on your device
Your child’s learning progress — such as which words have been practiced and which flowers have grown in the garden — is stored locally on your device only. It never leaves the device. You can remove this information at any time by clearing the app’s data in your device settings or by uninstalling the app. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all locally stored progress.
Children’s privacy (COPPA)
GentleSight is intended for children ages 4–8 and is designed to comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar children’s privacy laws. Because GentleSight collects no personal information from any user, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the relevant age in your jurisdiction). We do not require children to provide any personal information to use the app, and there is no advertising, no social features, no chat, and no external links presented to children. Any settings that could change the experience are kept behind a parental gate. If you believe a child has somehow provided us personal information, please contact us at privacy@glasswren.com and we will address it promptly.
Third-party services
GentleSight does not integrate third-party advertising, analytics, or social networking services. The only third party involved is the app store you download from (Google Play or the App Store), which handles app distribution and processes any optional purchase. Those services operate under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
Data export
Because all of your child’s progress is stored locally on your device and we hold no personal data on our servers, there is no remote data to export or request from us. Your information stays entirely under your control on your own device.
Changes to this policy
If we make changes to this policy — for example, when GentleSight becomes available on additional platforms — we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect. Because the app collects no personal information, we have no way to notify individual users directly, so we encourage you to check this page from time to time.
